PTI backs govt’s show of hands recommendation in Senate polls: Alvi

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Arif Alvi on Thursday said that they principally support government’s show of hands stance in the Senate elections.

Talking to the media, he said they were contesting the Senate elections from only a single province and they would cooperate with the government in formulating a show of hands law adding that they will back every step to hamper corruption. He said that the core committee would decide if PTI will go back to the assembly.

He further stated that he has suggested his party to participate in All Parties Conference (APC) after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s apology but the decision still resides with the core committee.

Referring to cyber crimes, he said it was a serious and noteworthy issue questioning if Pakistan taps Angela Merkel’s phone would that be a cyber crime too? Cyber criminals and governments were, therefore, accomplices to cyber offenses.
